Uncontested Divorce
An uncontested divorce simply means a divorce in which the parties have reached agreement on all issues. Nothing is in dispute and they do not need to submit anything to the court for determination other then getting a Judgment of Divorce. Technically, the end result of divorce Mediation and a negotiated divorce is an uncontested divorce but here we are using the term "uncontested divorce" to mean a couple that truly has no issues in their divorce. For example, a good candidate for an uncontested divorce would be a divorcing couple with no marital property to divide, no minor children, and no issues regarding maintenance (alimony). In which case, we can file relatively simple papers with the court on their behalf.
